Harri Fredman
I initially trained as a fine artist, graduating from Bath Academy of Art with an Honours degree in Sculpture.

After leaving college, I exhibited in various shows, including the Whitechapel Open Studios, before becoming interested in Jewellery as a form of sculpture.  Making jewellery seemed like a very natural progression and I subsequently went on to study silversmithing at South Thames College.

I feel this combination of training gives my work much of its unique quality; my sculpture background is an integral element in my jewellery, which reflects my continuing interest in natural forms and skeletal structures.  The work has been strongly influenced by the elemental forces of nature, such as the hot volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote; the oceans and beaches with their pebbles, shells and many plants and creatures; the brightly coloured birds and flowers of the rain forests.

Recently I started a new venture called Art4Schools, with the aim of providing quality art workshops in primary schools, to boost and complement the National Curriculum for art and other subjects.
